Second planet of the Chandrila system, Chandrila gets all the glory and most of the good press. A round planet, its surface is noted for being a mix of lush green land, relaxing hills and rather large oceans. In fact, the oceans are so vast they are only topped by Kamino, though we hear they dislike surfing and would much rather take out inflatable rafts.

The strictly maintained populace prefer to live in scattered communities, rather than show off by building a metropolis - though this doesn't mean they have forgone a capital city. It is from this capital city, Hanna, that their current leader, the aloof Imperial Governor Gerald Weizel (Kent), surveys his realm. He acts as an overseer for the democratic Chandrilan House, which encourages the people to have a direct voice in their government. Indeed, the laid back populace love a good debate, be it on how many cows to keep, whether they water the beans today or tomorrow, or the ongoing argument about their sun expanding to destroy them all in the coming hours.

The most famous inhabitant of Chandrila has to be Kal-El Mon Mothma, whose father was an arbiter general of the Old Republic and whose mother was a Chandrilan governor *cough* nepotism *cough*. It was Mon Mothma's successor, Senator Omonda, who ended up charged with treason for questioning Palpatine's disbanding of the Senate. She was executed during a Fete week on Coruscant, which really put a downer on the 'pin the tail on the Bantha' game.

Later, Luke Skywalker turned up, but not in time to stop Zod from escaping the Phantom Zone.
